"It is! It is a lemon! And it's telling me everything is going to be okay!"

Last night, I headed out with my dear friend Katrina, and we gave the city a good helping of citrus love.

We stealthily placed pretty yellow lemons in all sorts of exciting places. We wandered down a street that gets plenty of pedestrian traffic, meandering off it here and there. Occasionally we'd lurk somewhere, keeping a close watch on a lemon, but the brisk winds kept us moving. When, at last, we were lemonless, we turned around and headed back.

To our absolute delight, more than half the lemons were already gone as we wandered back! Little lovely yellow lemons were already in the hands of those that needed them.

Katrina was initially just a little grumpy, but I'm so glad I dragged her along! Every antic needs a partner in crime, and she was as giddy as a goose by the end of it all. Here she is in all her prettiness:

As I mentioned in a previous post, I stuck little notes with an email address inside each ceramic lemon. To my glee, I got two replies! One was already waiting in my inbox when I got home:
When I was living in Chicago someone placed a sticker on my bike. Its a silver sticker that says; "you are beautiful". Fantastic that I found this lemon on 8ave and center, while walking to my door. I will place it somewhere interesting and new....
He found his beautiful lemon on top of this little green post:

The other was even sweeter!
Hi, I found your lemon today. I noticed it and it brought a smile to my face. I then picked it up and noticed that there was a piece of paper rolled up inside. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the paper out of it where I found it so I took the lemon with me. The whole way to my office I kept wondering what wonderful thing I would find inside and it inspired me to want to use this lemon to make someone feel good (as it did me) or perhaps help someone less fortunate than myself. This really is a great idea. However did you come up with it?
I will write them both back in a moment. I never even thought of the lemon finders passing the lemons on again. How brilliant!

After our lemony adventure, we went to get some beer and wings with some friends. It turns out the manager of that bar is a vague relative of mine, and he so kindly took ALL of our beer off the bill! Our lemony karma paid off in the best way possible!

We learned a lot on this outing. We realized that very cold evenings are not good times to be sitting around outside watching people watch lemons. We learned that we both need better cameras. And we learned that next time, we'll make a video!

Stay tuned for further adventures! Certain plans are already being formulated...

You are wonderful. And I didn't even have to find a lemon to be made to feel joy. Thanks!
Awesome awesome awesome! This is such a fab project that I think it needs to expand & go global! I'm sure there would be enough enthusiastic people on board with you on this to set-up PROJECT LEMON branches worldwide.
